Review of The Piano Teacher (2001) by Frank V — 29 Jun 2014
Holy Hell. Few movies are able to shake me to the core but Michael Haneke seems to have the extraordinary talent to do just that. The Piano Teacher is one of the hardest films to watch, dissecting how the crushing pressure on musicians can drive them to insanity.
Haneke's powerful techniques elevate the excellent performances and disturbing story to become an experience that sticks with you for days. 5/5.
