Review of The Piano Teacher (2001) by Scott B — 12 Oct 2013
Has anyone added "dysfunctional"? The mother-daughter relationship is dysfunctional. The teacher's jealous relationship with a female student and her "target", her male student, is dysfunctional.
Her eventual "relationship" with her target male is dysfunctional. All it all, it IS powerful but it affected me and my wife negatively. Sure, the music is so real, it might be real, not fake acting.
Sure, Isabelle is a powerful actress. But my wife and I wish we hadn't watched it. I chose it because someone compared it to "The Notebook", a favorite of mine. But I say there is no comparison.
