Review of Seven Samurai (1954) by Jeffrey C — 30 Jul 2010
The Seven Samurai is about how a small village of farmers is threatened by bandits and goes to hire samurai for protection. Kurosawa brilliantly directs this masterpiece and the whole cast gives stunning performances especially the great Toshiro Mifune.
This film has such a simple plot but Kurosawa develops these incredible characters to make this simple plot have many sub plots which turns this film into something beautiful. I don't want to spoil this film, but the last line is what truly makes it a masterpiece to me.
