Akira Kurosawa makes an absolutely stunning work of art with Seven Samurai and with a gripping story which explores themes vital to Japanese culture such as honor and integrity. What is so impressive with this film is Kurosawa's ability to make so many complex and interesting characters and to convey meaning through not only every scene but arguable every shot.
He was ahead of his time and has influenced famous directors and future directors to come.
