This movie is 3 and a half hours long. Oh my gosh, why did it refuse to get boring? I wanted so badly to be in bed before 4 in the morning. Every scene is beautiful. Great themes. Engaging epic of a film that shows there is true joy in a simple, unrecognized life.
Also, Toshiro Mifune is such a fantastic actor I was dumbfounded.
