Review of Hereafter (2010) by Joe O — 10 Mar 2012
This film was all about character development. Following a series of characters all leading up to......nothing. It is slow and brooding, and I don't know, I guess I just expected something more. The acting and dialogue was fantastic, but I maybe missed the point that was trying to made with it , and it just kind of ends.
The film was all about the characters, but I didn't care about them like I did the ones in say "Million Dollar Baby". Hereafter is the type of movie we typically see win Oscars for best picture in recent years.
That being said, it's not very good. That's 3 Clint films in a row that I haven't liked (Invictus, Hereafter, J.Edgar). After 3 of my favorites in a row. (Million Dollar Baby, Changling, Gran Torino) Does that mean the next one will be awesome?
