Review of Winter Light (1963) by Fred L — 14 Jul 2007
With regards to Bergman's films on faith, this is clearly his magnus opus. Björnstrand and Thulin deliver their best performances in what Tarkovsky considered to be his favourite film. Bergman refrains from preaching or pushing any personal agendas, but rather leaves the viewer free to make whatever conclusions he has about the Pastor Ericsson and the film in general.
