Review of Wild Strawberries (2012) by Miikka H — 10 Apr 2009
It's a real pity that Finland never had such talents in the art of cinema. While we were making childish farces and other so-called "masterpieces" of the 50s, our neighbors were way ahead of us.
Bergman discussed taboo-like subjects with incredibly well-written dialogue, which was a real rarity in movies at that time. This element alone made also Wild Strawberries a modern film, which is still enjoyable to watch and full of surprises after 50 years.
