Review of Wild Strawberries (2012) by Lee Anne W — 24 Jan 2015
Can you believe this is the first Bergman movie I've ever seen? I don't know how I made it this long!
Anyway, I really enjoyed it. It's always interesting to see something in its origins that is now a cliche, and this is chock full of dream symbolism, death imagery, etc. But it's still an entertaining story of an elderly widowed doctor on a road trip to receive an award.
I can't say I'd sit and watch it if I came across it on cable on a boring Saturday afternoon, but it's not just "important," it's also not boring.
