Review of Ushpizin (2004) by Alysia V — 05 Apr 2010
As far as foreign films go, I have to say this is among my new favorites. Completely unexpected & a movie I bought simply out of curiosity turned out to be truly touching and wonderful! Shuli Rand did such an excellent job in the role of Moshe and he really made this movie for me.
I loved this couple's generous and patient kindness throughout and how they remained steadfast in their faith and love for God, through every situation and trial. I love the moment when Moshe's old tendency to become angry is tested and he runs out to the woods and cries out to God for help saying, "I don't want to be angry!" It's a very powerful moment and one of my favorite's of the movie.
This couple is tested time and time again yet never seem to doubt God's plan and will for their lives. It's a beautiful story and one that I very unexpectedly loved.
