Review of Conversations with Other Women (2006) by Alysia V — 09 Jan 2010
Interesting. Another one of those films where nothing really happens. The story takes place over one night, with flashbacks to earlier years. It was a little confusing right till the end when one character casually says something that makes it all all into place. Quite cleverly written.
I do enjoy films like this which are dialogue and emotion-driven. They really tend to show how the mind works in tough situations.
This film is very similar in structure to another one I watched within 24 hours of each other, called "Career Girls". The only thing that subtracted a little from this one though was that it wasn't very well directed. But that might actually be what added to its charm and gave it its realistic and in-the-moment feel.
