Living in the South, I had always heard about this film but had never seen it. And then it came on television one day and I decided to give it a try. It most certainly, accurately, portrays a group of gossipy, Southern women and while it was sort of entertaining to watch, it was also sort of annoying to watch.
Iâ??d never seen Dolly Parton in a movie until this, but I really liked her in it. Played an oleâ?? Southern gal quite well.
