Review of Coco Before Chanel (2009) by Alysia V — 26 Apr 2010
Biopic based in the youth of Gabrielle Chanel before she became famous designing hats and clothes. It tells us of her two first love fairs with two wealthy men, one of them dying in tragic circumstances in a car crash.
It is a french movie so the pace is slow and full of melancholy, in general a decent film with a notable cast and good performances. Audrey Tautou is remarkable as young but headstrong Coco, and on top of that, her ressemblance with the real Coco is uncanny.
