It definitely shouldn't be as long as it is, but The Wailing still enthralls with a central mystery that's intriguing and cleverly constructed, atmospheric chills and an overlying sense of dread creeping around every corner.
It's a very slow burn film, but it takes its time to really get under your skin and really freak you out. Stick with it and you will be rewarded with a wholly original and a very creepy film.
