Review of The Ox-Bow Incident (1943) by Jeremy J — 18 Apr 2009
One of the best westerns made. Instead of the shoot-em-up, high noon shoot out. We get a movie that explores the consequences of 'mob justice'.
What makes this movie particularly strong is th e variety of personalities and the discussions that go on between the characters,as they attempt to 'serve' justice outside of a court of law.
This movie's message can be applicable to any era in which people make think it's ok to take the law into their own hands and mete out 'private justice.'.
