Review of The Ox-Bow Incident (1943) by Kevin M — 02 Nov 2010
Todays movie of the day is The Ox-Bow Incident. One of the absolute all time great movies. Henry Fonda is the star as traveller passing through a town and although he is the star he is more on the outside of the action, watching it take place rather than actively participating in it.
However despite featuring an all time great in Fonda the show is easily stolen by Dana Andrews and Anthony Quinn as two men accused of a terrible crime. A great commentary on mob mentality and mob justice and the inherent dangers inherent to them.
Actually somewhat shocking that no one has remade this movie in modern times dealing with Arabs and terrorism, although it's certainly a good thing. Just a great movie with one of the saddest endings in movie history.
