Review of The Lady Eve (1941) by Ricardo O — 02 Nov 2010
Love this movie. Great script, great physical comedy, great direction by the inimitable Preston Sturges, and great chemistry by the two acting leads in the film. Henry Fonda plays his role straight as it should be but Barbara Stanwyck makes this movie so much fun to watch especially with her good looks and her great personality. Plus memorable performances from supporting actors Charles Coburn and William Demarest, especially whenever the latter is on screen [his final line in the film is a classic]. Such a joy to watch. 10/10.
"Positively the same dame!".
