Review of The Lady Eve (1941) by David L — 02 Dec 2014
The Lady Eve benefits from wonderful performances and chemistry between Barbara Stanwyck and Henry Fonda with some, unexpectedly for the era, very sexy sequences, but they alone cannot save the film from run-of-the-mill and pretty gullible script, dry slapstick humor and predictable conclusion.
It is unfortunately one of those movies that did not age well mostly because of the lack of genuinely good jokes and very hard to believe and cliched plot.
