Review of The Keep (1983) by Delboy M — 01 Jul 2012
Very Good, very atmospheric fantasy/horror with the musical themes from the magnificent Tangerine Dream playing a massive part and almost perfectly placed as ever in almost all Michael Mann's films.
Set in a small secretive Romanian mountain village trying to protect 'the Keep' from the invading German army during WW2 or any other weary wanderer to that matter but the ignorance of Nazis get themselves(rather enjoyably) in a shitload of trouble!
Totally under rated imo only watched it because Michael Mann directed it Ian McKellen,Scott Glen,Gabriel Byrne & Jurgen Prochnow make an appearance as does a few other recognizable faces glad I watched recommend it to anyone.
Again I have to mention Tangerine Dream provide the hypnotic music, superb stuff, can you tell I love Tangerine Dream!?! :).
