Review of The Drop (2006) by Brandon W — 01 Feb 2015
The Drop is a great crime movie that is quite not what I expect it to be. Tom Hardy and the late James Gandolfini are very strong in it and I'm glad that James end it with the best he's got. The plot is not grand, but it's interesting for what it is.
The characters are good, it can get a bit tense here and there, and the writing is great while giving off some funny moments. Which I'm glad that the author himself did a great job transitioning his book into a move.
I was a bit confused of James Gandolfini's character's motivation of what he's trying to accomplish, but other than that, The Drop is how you do a crime movie which is making it gritty, but smart with characters that are likable.
