Review of Midsommar (2019) by Ubeguysmiley — 19 Jan 2020

This movie was a directionless, disingenuous, disaster. It feels like it goes forever and what little plot there is it meanders through like there is no hurry or impetus to get any type of resolution. The characters are thin with little or no development. Normally in a movie of this nature there is some kind of growth or obstacle for the protagonist to "get over" but the main character starts and ends the same way. im sure that if you reversed the genders of Dani and Christian, and showed a previously faithful, patient and supportive woman, being drugged and coerced into having sex that she didnt particularly want then being condemned to burn to death by her jealous boyfriend then people would not being singing the praises of this movie in quite the same way.

Midsommar is a boring, tedious, dumb and pretentious piece of cinematic excrement.
