Review of Midsommar (2019) by Bricklayer — 05 Aug 2020
Uninspired nonsense with a few decent landscape shots...
I had high hopes going into this movie, but those were quickly snuffed out. Most of the film's scenes are too long for their own good, and are composed of either lethargic acting or wide establishing shots of the same two plain houses. As for the plot, it was dragged out for far too long. Not to mention it was riddled with nonsense that the writers tried to make seem somewhat meaningful.
In short, the whole movie could've been summed up to about 45 minutes of meaningless garbage but is stretched to nearly two and a half hours.
