Review of Lone Wolf McQuade (1983) by Carey L — 03 Mar 2011
J. J. McQuade is a Texas Ranger who doesn't follow any rules and prefers to work alone, which has earned him the nickname, Lone Wolf McQuade. When McQuade discovers some criminals with automatic weapons, he starts to investigate the origin of the weapons leading him the illegal arms dealer Rawley Wilkes (David Carradine) and his exotic girlfriend Lola Richardson (Barbara Carrera). Eventually McQuade meets Rawley in a final showdown...
Well, one can´t accuse Chuck Norris for being a particulary good actor. He has never been known for being that anyways. "Lone Wolf McQuade" is a pretty classic 80´s b-class action vehicle. Poor dialogue, over the top action sequences, silly scenes, out of the blue intimate scenes, poor acting and a Chuck Norris trying to look really tough and cool (which becomes slightly ridiculous). Ok, so we all thought Barbara Carrera was superhot in the 80´s, David Carradine cool and Chuck Norris the actionman number one. That is all forgotten now and my opinion is somewhat very different as we have entered 2011. I still claim that the only Chuck Norris movie that is not too shabby is "Code Of Silence". That still goes.
