Review of Kiss the Ground (2020) by Emmadurand — 31 Jan 2022
Kiss the Ground blends perfectly all that a viewer could want from a documentary. Spurring thought with its largely backed research findings, which are aided with some enrapturing graphics and breathtaking shots, this film concocts a case for our planet that is stirred with passion and sprinkled with hope.
Directors Joshua and Rebecca Tickell approached this with their all, their compassion and attention to detail clear in the documentary’s text and visuals alike. Guided by the splendid Woody Harrelson’s narration, Kiss the Ground paints an image of our Earth now, and another of what it could be.
With the use of regenerative farming practices that are as simple as changing the way we consume food, we are given the individual and untapped power to create waves in fighting climate change and the looming food crisis.
The power is truly in our hands and mouths, the film reveals. Backed by a symphony of voices from across the planet, viewers will be guided on a journey of discovery and awe. Kiss the Ground is a wonderful picture -- one with a similarly wonderful message.
