Review of Kiss the Ground (2020) by Lexifitzpatrick — 02 Feb 2022
In a successful attempt, Kiss the Ground aims to brief it’s audience on how our soil is the key to saving our planet. By bringing a collaboration of voices together, from scientists, to activists, to farmers, this documentary produces an even louder voice in the fight against climate change than any one could make by itself.
Directors Josh and Rebecca Tickell’s passion for this project comes through in the sheer amount of anecdotes, examples, people, and countries that are involved. It is explained that through regenerative agriculture, we are able to pull carbon from our atmosphere and put it back into our soil where it belongs.
In doing so the health of our planet, and the health of the individual will prosper. This process is shown both through impressive examples, as well as animations and graphics that explain the scientific concepts throughout.
Kiss the Ground makes the science entertaining and relates it back to each one of us, explaining what we can do to join in the fight. It’s an overall inspiring film that brings about ample amounts of hope and has the potential to change our planet for the better.
