Review of Inherit the Wind (1960) by Amanda G — 15 Aug 2009
The power of this film really is it's ability to still be meaningful and powerful after all these years. Almost fifty years later and it still packs a punch. In todays day and age, faith versus science is all too relevant.
Stanley Kramer was the boldest of directors and pushed buttons with this film that few dared to. Elevating the film is two great performances from too legends, March and Tracy. These two fighting head to head in the courtroom scene was acting gold.
This film is not just a film about religion and science, but also is a strong film about friendship, love and loyalty. This complex film impressed me to the core.
