Review of Cutter's Way (1981) by Jeff Z — 30 Jun 2009
Here's a movie that kind of fell through the cracks. John Heard goes for all the gusto as a one-eyed, one-armed, one-legged, one-note Vietnam vet who seems to be drinking himself to an early death. When his friend Bone(Jeff Bridges) becomes witness to the dumping of a murdered girl's body, he tries to prove who did it but blackmailing their prime suspect (Stephen Elliott)!
It has a stylish look to it, but in the end "Cutter's Way" is disjointed and takes some wrong turns and Ann Dusenberry completely disappears at one point in the film. Good effort, but there's no there here.
