Review of Au Revoir les Enfants (1987) by Sam N — 09 Oct 2013
I think this is the most personally affecting film I've ever seen. It's one of those films that stays with you for days after you've watched it. The film is subtle and highly realistic, very evocative and hits very deep.
It's a very, very personal film, and acted with superb humanity by Gaspard Manesse and Raphael Fejtö. The ending leaves you laced with regret and sorrow. One of the best films I've ever seen, and it took me completely by surprise.
