Review of A Decade Under the Influence (2003) by Lawrence B — 24 Dec 2007
The 7os was probably the last great decade for American movies and this excellent documentary deals with the films and the issues which caused them to be made.
Of course the usual Suspects are covered Scorsese, Coppola,Lucas but other film makers such as Schatzenberg ,Friedkin,Ashby and Schader also get a look in.
Also great actors such as Schnider And Christie also give ther view on the turbulant decade.
Best talking heads are Marty of Course and Peter Bogdanovich who tell of there highs and lows in the mad time Tinseltown found itself in.
And of course there is clips from all those great films from The GodFather,to Network to Nashville to PaperMoon.
If you want a starter into one of films most brilliant periods use this doc and then see the films it features I give you my word you will want to seek more of the films out after.
