A wheel-chair bound former star (Joan Crawford) is terrorised by her bitterly psychotic sister (Davis) in Robert Aldrich's edgy psychodrama, infamous for on-screen pairing of fierce rivals Davis and Crawford.
For all the furore over the competition between the two stars, it's a film which is easily dominated by (and belongs to) a phenomenally bravura performance from Davis.
