Review of Zardoz (1974) by Greg E — 24 Jul 2012
This movie sharply divided audiences between those who loved it and those who hated it. The thinly veiled message that it delivers is just too unwelcome to many (anti religion, anti government, anti war, etc.
) - and when you couple that with moments of cheesy dialogue, it is easy to lambaste. But the film remains a brilliant work in surrealism. A chance to explore an alternate reality that you will never forget, if you can just suspend your disbelief for an hour and half.
