Review of Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead (1995) by Adam P — 15 Jan 2012
Christopher Walken is his usual awesome self, Christopher Lloyd is a far cry from Back to the Future's "Doc," and the "fecal freak" is a riot. From Jimmy the Saint's odd entrepreneurial venture to Mr.
Shhh's cool-n-collected murder methodology, there are various zany dancers on the floor. This tough-guy flick has a unique twist to the typical hit man movie, and it's not that we expected a happy ending from a film about monstrous mobsters, but personally, in the end this one's main character's actions were just too /facepalm for us.
Still, it's a cult classic with fruit-loop players and zany situations, plus, for Burn Notice fans, it's great to see a younger, baby-faced Gabrielle Anwar. We would've rated it higher, and surely others will disagree with this score, but the decisions of Jimmy the Saint, though admirable, ultimately turned us off, because we felt there were better alternate endings.
Favorite quotes: "Boat drinks!" and "Just because they're gone doesn't mean they can't guide." ;P.
