Review of Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead (1995) by Benwomack — 05 Jul 2020
Hi. Good morning. Time/Date: I watched this when I was a type of child.
Title/Author: see the website.
Relationship to being true: it's not true.
Description: Sorry, I saw this a long time ago. There is a scene to introduce Andy Garcia character. An outfit of banditos , mercenaries are hired, to steal? something. But. They are a nervous bunch- and one of them, Lid'on'it? his name? kills one of the hostages- and so, they are sentenced to death by their employer- and Death is a hitman- Mr Sh, Steve Buscemi. So then, what to do? under the pall of death. Andy Garcia kills the man's son, and does a rather strange thing- asks that a fellow proposes to his girlfriend, using his ring. And there is a narrator character, slightly older.
Reaction: I liked this much more, than Reservoir Dogs, which is - the wave that it is riding. But. There is a but. In retrospect, it is completely laden with stuff, homophobia. Or identity crisis, not sure. The man Andy berates his secretary, for being a poof? does he. And then later, with a knife, stabs, the man's son- who is played by- the person who wrote the torch song trilogy? and … one of the hitman's punishments , is shooting someone up the ass, so they bleed to death. (in the garbage, Bill Nunn.) So. It is a cops and robbers- looking at the robbers, this time. If you like. That sort of thing.
Thanked? Thanks.
Does it use beautiful people? Andy Garcia, Gabrielle Anwar.
Was I the right age? I think the main thing to acknowledge, is that crime is very real, and very scary- and really not the stuff of a comic book farce, once the relevant emotions catch up with you. Thank you.
