Review of The Warriors (1979) by Matthew R — 14 Oct 2014
A surprisingly direct and gritty examination of gang violence in 70's New York, this Walter Hill classic moves forward fluently and creates a coherent story arc spanning only one night in the dark and violent suburbs of the city.
A small, rather quiet but interesting flick that should maybe have tried to be more than it settles with being, "The Warriors" is a product of its time but still relevant enough to be woth checking out.
