Review of The Warriors (1979) by Gamzguy17 — 21 Aug 2021
Plays very much like a machismo rock opera ballet, except it has far less music (but good music) and a lot more action. "The Warriors" is enamoured in its 70's Pop Culture and uses it as a hyper-stylized platform of sweet campy entertainment.
It closes the door of its decade and opens the door for what's to come in the 80's. It doesn't take itself seriously and it's a very memorable picture. Fans will re-enact its scenes just like another famous 70's cult film, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", with equal squeal and delight as fans of that film.
