The Warriors (1979) C-93m. ?? D: Walter Hill. Michael Beck, Dorsey Wright, James Remar, Brian Taylor. Uneasy but neatly stylized adaptation of Sol Yurick's violent novel details group of kids pursued by other street criminals after falsely accused of murder.
Strong design is basis for unconvincing story, despite good performances, intelligent production design. Understandably this film became a cult success . . . and inspired some truly awful imitators.
