Review of The Virgin Spring (1960) by Al M — 12 Aug 2008
Beautiful, brutal, philosophical...The virgin spring is pure genius. Interestingly enough, Wes Craven adapted his classic horror film Last House on the Left from Bergman's film, which in turn was adapted from a medieval ballad.
Bergman's film is a must see---an experience of pure serenity punctuated by moments of violence and existential angst.
