Review of The Virgin Spring (1960) by Greg W — 05 Feb 2013
Bergman's harrowing film that inspired Last House On The Left; a young girl is attacked and killed by a couple of goatherder degenerates. Bergman plays around with Christianity and Paganism and the whole "the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away" against the need for retribution.
It's a simple film but wonderfully made.
