Review of The Virgin Spring (1960) by Kevin T — 26 Apr 2009
A simplistic conventional tale with a twisted wrench thrown in midway. Seems to be an inspiration from Last House on the Left (the recent version just terrible - don't waste your money). So much is crammed into this 90 minute movie that it really does exude Bergman's screenwriting ability along with all of his other films. Mainly filmed with static shots it becomes a very difficult film to turn your eyes away from.
A perfect film.
