Review of The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964) by Otto L — 04 Jun 2009
I still prefer the 'modern' musicals where you've got dialogue that isn't sung. The movie's so ridiculous it's actually quite entertaining. The plot's totally predictable and the music's just OK (not brilliant).
Points for the bittersweet quality of love which is contrasted with the syrupy beginning of the film.
