The first hour is terrible and totally boring but the second half of the movie (starting from the auction scene) is awesome. And what a god awful intro song. If you don't understand the end and even if you think you do, watch the director's commentary for the last scene (in the cemetery).
If you make it through the whole film it actually is pretty alright.
