Review of The Thomas Crown Affair (1968) by Kevin R — 31 Mar 2011
It's my funeral. You're just along for the ride.
Thomas Crown is a rich man that plans an eccentric bank heist that is executed to perfection. He begins living his normal life when a strange insurance woman drops into his lap accusing him of the crime. It becomes apparent the insurance woman knows of his crime and is working with the police. Thomas starts an affair with her anyway.
"What you don't know will hurt you.".
Norman Jewison, director of Other People's Money, The Hurricane, Moonstruck, Rollerball (1975), Jesus Christ Superstar, The Cincinnati Kid, In the Heat of the Night (1967), and Fiddler on the Roof (1971), delivers The Thomas Crown Affair. The storyline for this picture is entertaining and well delivered. It reminded me a little of Our Man Flint. The acting by Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway was amazing.
"There's no way out.".
We have been watching as many Steve McQueen pictures as possible and I have been meaning to see this movie since the remake came out a few years ago. This movie is delivered with amazing style. McQueen delivers Thomas Crown to perfection and Faye Dunaway is a perfect blend of provocative and manipulative in her role. This is an unpredictable movie that is definitely worth your time.
"Money is not funny.".
