Review of The Thomas Crown Affair (1968) by Rob H — 18 Aug 2011
One of the most stylish films I've seen in a long time, the wardrobes are staggering and Faye Dunaway is a perfectly beautiful predator. However the film and Steve McQueen really are jarring, being soulless instead of charming.
Thomas Crown is played as the embodiment of distasteful excess and psychopathy (no matter how tasteful his suits), rather than a likeable rake.
