Review of The Third Man (1949) by Jonny P — 24 Dec 2011
The Third Man is brilliant, I'm pleased I finally saw it. It's one of the best thrillers and movies ever made. An ageless classic. The atmosphere Greene and Reed created for the film is outstanding, Vienna in ruins is still splendorous, what a beautiful city! All the different and contradictory versions on the death of one man were so thrilling and scary.
Orson Welles appears on the third third of the movie, to prove he was a terrific villain and that he had a magnetic presence on screen. The cinematography, art direction and edition are glorious... I loved the film.
