Review of Seven Doors to Death (1944) by Orlok W — 27 Oct 2008
Print needs restoration. Many scenes take place in darkened cellars and rooms, but these scenes may be harder to see now than when this film first screened. The sound quality isn't great. Michael Raffetto aka "Paul" from old time radio show "One Man's Family" plays police captain Jaffe.
The rich timbre of his voice is lost to tinniness. The leads are appealing. The plot is confusing. Definitely the oddest assortment of merchants running forbidding shops. Rebel Randall is riotous as a raging nymphomaniac.
