Review of The Third Man (1949) by Jonathan C — 10 Sep 2017
The Third Man (1949) is possibly one of the greatest black & white movie that I have ever seen! the film was responsible for saving Welles' reputation, due to the bad reception from Hearst over Citizen Kane (1941). The Sewer Chase is one of my favorite scenes in the film. The morality of the movie deals with trust. Harry Lime (Orson Welles) is somebody who feels that his friendship with Holly Martins (Joseph Cotten) can help him get out of trouble; which becomes complicated in Harry's situation. The film was originally in the Public Domain, but was taken out along with The 39 Steps (1935) by a ruling from the U.S. Supreme Court in 2012. Definitely a favorite!
Score: A+ GREAT!!!
