Plot Summary.
The Ten Commandments was based on the life of Moses, he was born a Hebrew, who later becomes an Egyptian prince. Moses was giving the Ten Commandments from God, on Mount Sinai. Moses performed many acts concerning the punishment of the Hebrew slaves. Prince Rameses, brought charges against Moses, because the Hebrew people believed Moses was a prophet. Moses challenged the Pharaoh's power by delivering power plagues against his kingdom. The Pharaoh was forced to let his people go by the acts of God. Moses and his people wonder for 40 years at the bottom of Mt Sinai, where Moses received the tablets. The Pharaoh wife Nefertiti urges him to go after the Hebrews, but God released a wall of water created by the sea to collapse on his army drowning them all. Moses later died an elderly man, but was not allowed to cross over into the promise land. His act of disobedience kept him from his true blessings.
World Religion.
This movie shows how society is shaped by the teachings of their religion of choice. The Ten Commandments are beliefs in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. We can also look at the Ten Commandments common to the laws we live by every day in the USA. Laws are commands giving by God that all society must uphold. The Sixth Commandment, is upheld in every know culture in the world. Also the 8th Commandment is a law in every culture in the world. The Jewish religion, Hebrew Scriptures contain 613 commandments, the importance of the Ten Commandments to the Jews; if one is broke, it is punishable by death. Jews also belief that these laws are meant to be taught my Jews not the Government. Islam doesn't believe all teaching of the bible because they believe that it has been changed by the government over time, but they do accept Jesus and Moses as prophet. Also in the Quran there are several commands closely related to the Quran. There are a lot of religions in this world today some are similar and some are vary in different ways. We live in a diverse world, and this what make mankind so interesting.
