Review of The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974) by Carlos J — 10 Jan 2013
One of the best caper films ever, at least from the 70s anyway. Excellent performances, great directing, a wonderful score and a terrific, though flawed storyline. The movie plays out straight -- the time lapse of the events last for only a couple of hours, which made it perfectly alright for the plot not having any subplots or extensive character development. Deeply satisfying motion picture, it was just enthralling popcorn entertainment. Highly recommended.
P.S - I'm guessing Tarantino is a fan. The criminals here all call themselves by colours, just like in ''Reservoir Dogs''.
