The kingdom of Seatopia is a secret civilization that lives inside the Earth and they are sick of the way that the people of the surface world are ruining the planet.

To bring the human race to extinction, the Emperor of Seatopia (Robert Dunham) awakens the giant monster, Megalon to destroy the surface world.

Meanwhile, an inventor named Goro Ibuki (Sasaki) and his friends, Rokuro (Kawase) and Hiroshi (Hayashi), create a robot named Jet Jaguar to protect the earth with the assistance of Godzilla.

Also there is a surprise appearance by Gigan.

Once again, Godzilla vs Megalon is family friendly and often times very silly when it comes to its monster battle. Each of the monsters seems to have more of a conscience and human characteristics. You can really tell what they're thinking.

The main hero of this film is Jet Jaguar, who reminds me of the Japanese cult TV show, Ultraman. Godzilla is downplayed to a supporting character again, only appearing briefly at the beginning and not appearing again until almost halfway through the film.

Don't even try to take this movie seriously. There are times when the film defies all logic, even for a Godzilla film. Kids MAY enjoy it, but as they get older they will see how corky it is.
