Review of The Shootist (1976) by Ivan B — 23 Sep 2008
The Shootist was John Wayne's final film and he has put his heart and soul into it and he truly is magnificent in this film. His acting and body language is amazing and you truly feel for Books from the beginning of the film until the very end.
Lauren Bacall is also excellent as Books' landlady and Ron Howard is also quite good as Becall's son!!
It isn't a very long film and it doesn't have to be and it has a fantastic and truly moving story! One of the best parts of the film is the introduction which shows some clips from Wayne's best westerns.
